Don’t Chew the Trans Fat

Trans fat doesn't just raise the levels of bad (LDL) cholesterol. They may lower good (HDL) cholesterol, too, increasing your risk for stroke and heart disease. Stick margarines, commercial baked goods and packaged snacks are the most common foods with trans fat. The good news is, many manufacturers are reformulating recipes to get the trans fats out. So be sure to check the label before you put food in your shopping cart -- or in your mouth!
